Dal Tadka recipe or Yellow Dal Tadka or Restaurant Style Dal Fry Tadka recipe is a vegan dish and very popular and favorite and most demanded dal recipe which is served in Indian Restaurants and dhabas.
Firstly, wash all three lentils together and soak for at least 40 minutes to 1 hour. After this, remove water from the dal.
Secondly, take a pressure cooker. Add oil, ghee, cumin and ginger. Saute for 1 minute on high flame.
Now add soaked dal, turmeric powder and salt. Mix it gently.
Then add 4 cup water and cover the lid and cook till 5 whistles on low to medium flame.
For Dal Tadka
Firstly, take a kadai. Add oil, ghee, cumin, green chilli, ginger, garlic and dry red chilli. Saute for 2 minutes on high flame.
Secondly, add onion and cook it light golden brown on low to medium flame.
Then add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt as per taste, garam masala powder and kasoori methi. Mix it properly and cook for 2 minutes on medium flame.
Now add cooked dal in it and mix it gently. Boil for 5 minutes on low to medium flame.
Then add chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice. Mix it and boil for 2 minutes.
For Dal Tadka Tempering
Take a tempering pan, add ghee, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, kashmiri red chilli powder and dry red chilli. Cook for a while or till it starts to crackle.
