Bombay Halwa recipe is very popular all over the world. Bombay Halwa Recipe is very easy to make at home, which is prepared from mixtures of milk and cornflour.
Bombay Ice Halwa Recipe (Mahim Halwa)
Moreover, Bombay Ice Halwa is available in any sweet shops in India. There are many variations in Bombay Ice Halwa which differ with colors and flavors in preparations. Halwa is my favorite in any variations but especially Bombay Halwa is my favorite sweet. It is also known as Cornflour Halwa.
Furthermore, I have to share some suggestions for Bombay Halwa recipe. Firstly, get milk on a warm level else cornflour may leave lumps. Or you can keep the flame on low for the first 3-4 minutes. Secondly, add ghee and sugar as described for the best result. Ghee helps silkiness and smoothness in Halwa and sugar helps to set the Halwa. Lastly, you can add color in Bombay Ice Halwa of your choice or can skip as for white color Halwa. Moreover, you can add dry fruits on Halwa of your choice to make it look more attractive.
Bombay Ice Halwa Recipe
Ingredients
- 1½ Cup Milk
- 1½ Cup Sugar
- ¼ Cup Cornflour
- ¼ Cup Ghee
- ¼ Tbsp Cardamom Powder
- ¼ Tbsp Orange Food Color
- 1 Tbsp Cashews (Finely Chopped)
- 1 Tbsp Almonds (Finely Chopped)
- 1 Tbsp Pistachio (Finely Chopped)
Instructions
- Firstly, take a dip bottom kadai and add milk, sugar, cornflour, ghee and cardamom powder.
- Secondly, mix gently and cook this on low to medium flame till starts to thicken.
- Then add 1 tbsp ghee and mix well when starts to thicken.
- Now separate half portion of cooked halwa in another bowl for white-based halwa and add orange food color in rest half portion of cooked halwa and mix well.
- Then pour that mixture on a butter paper.
- Furthermore, cover with other butter paper sheet.
- Moreover, roll it with a rolling pin until roti’s thickness.
- Garnish with finely chopped Cashew, Almonds and Pistachio. And again cover with paper and roll it for just stick that dry fruits on Halwa and rest 2 hours.
- Now in the same way prepared white-based Halwa and rest 2 hours.
- Lastly, cut edges of Halwa and shape square shape of Halwa and your Bombay Ice Halwa is ready to eat.

Tips to Making Bombay Ice Halwa Recipe
- Firstly, you can add ingredients at the same time for time-consuming.
- Secondly, you can also use oil and use ghee instead of oil for a more rich flavor.
- Moreover, use rava/semolina instead of cornflour for variations.
- Then you can also garnish with dried fruits of your choice.
- For best result, rest this Halwa for at least 2-3 hours or overnight.
- Lastly, you can add the color of your choice for variations to make different color Halwa.
