How to make Khari Recipe at home with step by step photos. Khari recipe or Puff Pastry recipe is a commonly popular biscuits recipe of Bombay. This recipe is an Indian version of khari recipe or eggless khari recipe. It is very easy to make puff pastry, veg puff, cheese puff, cumin puff, aloo matar pastry, paneer pastry, dry fruits pastry, etc.
How to Make Puff Pastry Recipe #
Moreover, if you have puff pastry sheets ready at home then this is instantly made at home. In this recipe, make puff pastry sheets till cutting work and then you can store puff pastry sheets in a clean wrap sheet in the fridge at home. Remove this before 30 minutes you want to make or defrost them in the microwave. You can also use store-bought ready to use puff pastry sheets.
Furthermore, I want to share some suggestions for Puff Pastry Recipe. Firstly, in this recipe, frozen ghee is used instead of margarine. Additionally, you can also spread carom seeds into the dough right before kneading for Jeera Khari. Lastly, it is important to work quickly throughout this process so that dough will remain cold and ghee won’t melt. Khari Recipe
Ingredients
- 1½ Cup Maida (All-purpose Flour)
- Salt as per taste
- 2 Tbsp Oil
- water as required
- ¼ Cup Ghee
- Maida or Plain Flour (for kneading or dust on dough)
Instructions
- Firstly, take a bowl and add ghee in it. Then frozen that ghee in a deep freezer.
- Take out the ghee's bowl from the freezer and whisk it properly. And frozen ghee is ready to spread. Keep in a freeze when you don’t need this.
- Take a mixing bowl and add maida, salt and oil in it.
- Then add water as required and knead the dough semi-hard.
- The dough is ready. Now cover this bowl with a lid or clean wrap and place this dough in a deep freezer for 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes, take this out and put it on a kitchen platform or any flat surface. Now roll it gently with plain flour in oval shape quickly. Then spread frozen ghee gradually and dust some plain flour on it.
- Now fold as described from sides and again spread frozen ghee and dust some flour.
- Again fold in half as described and spread some ghee and dust some flour.
- Now fold this dough from three parts in one part as described.
- Then again fold in the third part. So it will come in three parts folds.
- Place this in a bowl and keep in the freezer for 20 minutes again. And repeat this rolling process from step no. 6 to 11. And keep this in the freezer for 40 minutes.
- Take out the dough from the freeze and dust some flour and roll in a rectangle shape or any desired shape. Then cut in pieces.
- Place this khari in a greased microwave plate.
- Then place this plate in a preheated microwave and back this khari for 10 minutes in convection mode at 200°F.
- After 10 minutes. Flip this khari and again put in the microwave for 5 minutes in convection mode at 180°F.
- Take this out from the microwave and place it on the cooling rack and cool it down at room temperature.
- Your Khari or Puff Pastry is ready to serve.
